The Symphonic Films

Dall’s ongoing project The Symphonic Films are visits to places and artists captured in still images as a film then scored to new music for orchestra. Each episode consists of broadcast-quality HD video, the orchestra soundtrack and scores, select 11″x17″ museum-quality prints, and related graphics. Episodes range from five to twenty minutes each. Each project may consist of multiple episodes, such as “Alaska and Back” or “Raleigh After Rain.” The projects are available for broadcast and exhibit. These have been called “a considerable contribution to the culture” and reflect generations of Dall’s musical heritage and affection for the regions visited.

The Symphonic Films are grounded to each occasion which has inspired its orchestral expression. The complete soundtracks are released on iTunes and Spotify. A few dozen demo episodes with visuals are available on YouTube.
